Good Range of Shops/Lacks Atmosphere

(01 May 2012)

I said exactly the same thing about this centre when I reviewed it two years ago -some good shops, but still lacks amosphere despite the pleasing architecture of the building. The flagship, Dunnes , is essential to theCentre and has an excellent range of departments and a full supermarket with off licence.Parking is handy, but expensive. I have bought items in the Bag Shop on ground floor recently -good variety and excellent service;the Green Gallery is a favourite of mine -recently bought ... Read more...

Such A Mixture

The title really describes what I think about the centre. It is BEAUTIFUL in terms of architecture and decor. There are a few awful shops, with tacky clothes, boring stalls etc. There are some great shops also- the Quiksilver Shop, Tribes, Dunnes Stores, Boots, Argos, TK Maxx- the usual useful sort of shops. Also there are some lovely places to dine in the centre and have coffee, particularly over the higher levels.... Read more...

Like others have said it is starting to date, but its still dating in a nice way and it hasn't been overrun with fast food shops inside like grafton st has. It has a great selection of shops from jewellery to sports to barbers and good fashion shops. You can even pick up your groceries in Dunnes stores. It is right in the heart of Dublin and has lots of coffee and food shops if you get tired, or if you're too stressed from shopping then head outside to the park which is right next door.... Not a favorite of mine

I only come to this shopping centre because of its location, I think it is out of date and has a bad atmosphere, nearly always too crowded. I was here recently with family members looking for an outfit but failed to get anything I liked at a price I could afford. What I did get was a bloke trying to pinch my wallet even though I had it in the front pocket of my jeans. My son spotted what was going on and the bloke left emptied handed, but he did get something that he would not be spending in a... Read more...

I love this shopping centre.Always come here. However,I think there are pickpockets here.I lost my purse twice here. All the shops are good especially TKMAXX where you can get a good bargain.I always bring visitors from other country here and shop in Carrols Irish gift.Since I experienced pickpockets here,I always be careful with my handbag.... I love this shopping centre I dont get to shop here as much I'd like but when I do I make the most of it, there is a reall mix of shops her from Clothes shops to Tatatoo Parlour and also a wrestling shop for all you big kids. There is also parking situated on site which is very handy if you dont want to trek through town to get here.... Read more...

Dated, but strangley beautiful

This shopping centre is probably only surviving because of its location. There is a strange mix of shops, aimed at all different market segments, from Gothic to kids ware, there is also a number of oddly placed kiosk on the ground floor make it a confusing mass of out dated shops. There is nothing enticing, or atmospheric about it, except for the odd bunch of Christmas carollers around the festive season. You also have to pay for the toilet. What? However if you go to the top floor via the... Read more...

St Stephens Green Shopping Centre is very centrally located and easy to get to. This shopping centre has over 100 stores. Dunnes Stores, Boots and TK Maxx are just some examples. There are other unusual kinds of shops here like gothic clothes shop. There is something for everyone here and it is definitly worth a look in. The exterior is also something to be admired.... I don't know, there is just something about this particular shopping center that I don't like. There are 3 floors to it, but I always think the top floor is just made up of unpopular, "bitty" shops. Its in a great location, to be fair to it, and it does have some lovely shops in it - Mothercare, Boots etc, I always try to grab a bite in the TGI outside it. Maybe its the fact that the car park is a pain to get around, or the fact that it always seems to be raining the glass roof,... Read more...

I like this shopping centre. I like the style of the buliding. Its a classic that i don't think will ever be outdated. I Like all the glass - nice and bright. The shops are good - the dunnes is very good. Its got argos, boots, TK maxx, mothercare, hughes & hughes. Its good for all the basics. The upper level is a good place to stroll with some interesting small shops and pictures & paintings on display. The only downside is you have to pay to use the toilets.... Read more...

This shopping centre is located in the heart of the city but I'm not mad about it. It's alright, nothing special. It looks a bit dated and I do not like the glass ceilings. The parking charges are pretty high too. Shops of note in here include Benetton, Wallis, Thorntons and Dunnes Stores. You will also find Boots Chemist which is a bit on the small side. It's worth a look but it won't blow you away.... Read more...
