Activity holidays the new way to sell holidays.

I always enjoy reading the "Go" magazine that accompanies the Saturday supplement with the Irish Times. It deals with travel, articles, special offers etc. I noticed in last Saturdays supplement an advert for a cooking holiday in Tuscany. Something that I want to do and will do if I can find the right priced holiday. This particular advert was advertising a 4 day holiday for around €800, not cheap. When I looked closer at detail in the advert it sais it was a three night break.... Read more...

The quality of this magazine is excellent. There is certainly plenty to read in it covering many different topics and all very well written and a good mix of well written articles. I enjoy the holiday and cooking part of the magazine. The only problem I have is the TV section, in the Independent they will give a film a star rating and it give you an idea how good it is whereas in Irish Times does not give any stars. It can sometimes be a little heavy on the Arts. But overall a good magazine and... Read more...

Good But Not Exceptional

I found an old Irish Times magazine (from 2001) in my garage recently, and in terms of 'feel' it was much nicer, with glossy magazine type paper (as opposed to 'newspaper' paper. Having said that , it always has some good features and a reasonable TV Guide section. However, it is a poor relation to say 'The Culture' in the 'Sunday Times' which has more sections and a more comprehensive TV Guide especially re satellite channels. However , it is in my opinion the best of the Irish Saturday... IThe Irish Times Magazine is an interesting enough read. It has a bit of everything in it and so will suit most people. I like the travel section. I find it very interesting and informative. I also enjoy the eating out section and as a cooking fan love reading through this. The fashio section is also very good.... Read more...

Don't get me wrong I like a good read the same as the next fella. I have even paid €5 for an Irish newspaper when I was down in Torremolinos a few years back, I was so homesick. However it's getting to the stage where you will need to get a mortgage to buy a newspaper soon. That's why I only ever buy a newspaper on a Saturday nowadays. Gosh! do you remember back when the Tiger was roaring, the Irish Times Property supplement was bigger than the newspaper itself. My favourite bit was the... Read more...

this is a brilliant magazine considering it is a free supplement. its really enjoyable to read over a cup of tea when your not in the humour of heavy news articles. its in firm contrast to the actual newspaper end of things but is of a very high standard and well done. it is great in particular for new releases and book reviews. it also is great for reciepes too on occasion and for evening entertainment. ... I love the Irish Times Magazine. Their holiday section is excellent. Far superior than any other newspaper magazine out on Saturday. The quality of journalism is superb. I like theirs fashion section, but they are always expensive clothes. Great book reviews, always read this before buying a new book. I like Roisin Ingles articles. I think there is a lot in this magazine to please many readers. ... Read more...

Great supplement

This is without a doubt my favourite part of the Irish Times weekend paper. Unlike a lot of magazines, it manages to be light-hearted and interesting while still being very well-written. I find the restaurant reviews to be very accurate and usually agree with them whole-heartedly. It has a diverse range of articles and focuses on Culture, rather than the petty gossip which is found in its competitors. Great recipes too!... Read more...

I like the Irish times Magazine. They usually do a feature on some well known irish celeb or polotician and it can be an interesting read. I like the reviews they do also and i always freel well informed after i read their magazine. The Irish Times is one of the more expensive papers but i feel it is worth it there is plenty of reading material with it and their journalists are top class.... Read more...

The Irish Times Magazine is definitely worth a read, there's usually a good range of diverse and interesting articles in it with informed opinions from the writers. It's quite light-hearted, I tend to read this supplement before I begin reading the Irish Times Newspaper. It's good for reviews too, and just general things to do with fashion and food. To its credit it's very well written and I wouldn't be surprised if some people buy the Times solely for this supplement.... Read more...

This is a really good magazine with lots of interesting features to read. I often don't get the weekly TV Guides so make sure to get the weeks tv programmes in the guide at the back of this Irish Times magazine. Nice that there are so many features with a very local Irish focus. In the past year the design of the front cover has changed quite a bit which makes it interesting. Can certainly recommend.... The Irish Times magazine is issued with the paper on saturday. Prefer the culture magazine thats with the Sunday Times but it's still a decent read. Has a mix of features and regular articles covering everything from gardening with Jane Powers to various culinary sections , beauty, dating and the tv and radio listings for the week. Good interview with Stuart Staples of Tindersticks in yesterdays mag.... Read more...
