For me it is by far the best Irish newspaper on offer. All the other papers are very tabloidy and trashy. It is regarded as a proper broadsheet by most and stays away from the gossipy threads by and large. Most of its headlines are current affairs and genuine news. Now and again it will stoop to the tabloid style and it does have a few bad journalists working for it. But if you want accurate news and sports coverage it is hard to look past this paper. Also it is free to read online which is a... Read more...

Irish Times

Irish Times would be a newspaper that I read and I enjoy it very much. The whole layout is good. I enjoy the weekend newspapers with the magazine and I enjoy reading the Go travel supplement and love reading other peoples holiday adventures. Their readers letters page is always interesting, some interesting opinions and views. The sports and business I just glance at, if something catches my eyes then I will read it. Overall the content of articles is of a high quality, but If I cannot get this... Read more...

This is a very good newspaper, and really like it. Saturday's paper is the best with the magazine inside, it has all the TV schedule and the Review supplement is always interesting. It's very well printed with good interesting articles from fashion to cooking, holidays and all the latest news and some gossip. They have a section on book reviews, I find this good, you can get a good idea if a book is suitable reading after reading the reviews opinion. It sells fast in my local shop, and... Read more...

I do not like this newpaper at all. I do not like the layout even of it. They should consider printing a smaller size edition of this paper, like the The Irish Independent do. The sport is in the wrong place, in my opinion, in this newspaper. The seem to make a news artile stretch over five or six pages. Other papers are better value for money then this one. The crosswrod page is about the best thing here.... Read more...

The Irish Times is not the worst paper you will ever purchase, but I do not think it is the best either. It is a little pricy. It contains what I call proper news. By that I mean, the day to day happenings that are important both in Ireland and in other countries also. There is a good television guide page near the back of the paper. The classified section is also very good. There is no showbiz section, but that is no harm.... Read more...

Why am I more inclined to believe what I read here? Maybe its because I'm not met by page 3 girls with lots of K's and I's in their name. They cover a lot of different topics in it, written in a balanced manner by "proper" journalists. I remember when Sudoko was still a baby the way my old boss used to sweat and cry over the crossword every day :) Basically a good read, with proper grammar and no celeb love-lives!... Read more...

Marvelous newspapers
(22 April 2011)
by: Gemma C. 5 out of 5
Marvelous newspapers covering items like holidays, reviews of books and I especially love their fashion and business section, and their weekend paper is crammed full of articles. You can find all the latest home and international news. My day is not complete until I finish their crossword. I would say it's Ireland's most well-respected and credible broadsheet. The reporting is accurate, intelligent, incisive and observant. ... Read more...

This is a really good train journey paper for me. It is very informative and an easy way to kill an hour or 2 and has a much greater quality of writing than a lot of the other options on the market. I suppose it will suit a certain style of reader, dont buy if you want celeb gossip and entertainment as to me its a real 'proper' NEWSpaper with the issues that really matter in the world.... A Favourite

Absolutely great paper, excellent read everyday. It's quite the "intelligent person's" paper offering a broad range of views on countless news topics from all over the world. I love reading it to get an educated insight into the happenings of todays world. It's reasonably priced and you can get a great deal in university student shops, sometimes offering up to 70% off the rrp. I'd definitely recommend it.... Read more...

Good Paper

Not a bad paper...only thing is its a broadsheet paper and im not a fan of them..too hard to read! They do offer some very good stories though and also very good from a business point of view. One thing i really like about the paper is that they always seem to write the truth not like some other daily papers that are only interedted in celebrity gossip. A good read!... Read more...
