love this hotel it has a touch of class very hard to come by in irish hotels as they all seem scared of modern design, quite expensive but you dont mind paying for quality, one downside all foreign staff ppl visit irish hotels for irish personel and we have taken that away from them this needs to be replaced foreign staff are so rude and i dont know how they get to keep there jobs thats the only downside i could see to this hotel!... delicious Afternoon tea
(07 September 2010)
by: Helen G. 4 out of 5
I had Afternoon tea here on my Birthday, so was a special occasion. There is no doubt that it is pricy and they do add the service charge which pushes up the cost even further, HOWEVER! if you are looking for a once off treat as opposed to a daily indulgence, you really cant beat it for sheer, luxurious indulgence! For the chocolate deluxe tea, you get delicious sambos, choxdolate scones with chocolate sauce, tons of gorgeous pastries, Strawberries dipped in chocolate, tea/coffee and a glass of... Read more...

Great experience but too pricy to repeat
(30 August 2010)
by: M. O. 5 out of 5
I had a nice afternoon tea here with a friend recently. While the afternoon tea was enjoyable with finger sandwiches, cream scones and cakes you almost got indigestion afterwards at the cost. For the €60 for the two of us we could have had a full meal somewhere. You are certainly sitting in the lap of luxury looking at those around you eating and drinking and somehow you can't but feel that most are quite wealthy and move in more upmarket circles than you do if they can afford... Too pricey but quite delicious....mixed bathrooms though
(29 August 2010)
by: Anna M. 3 out of 5
Classy restaurant with nice atmosphere just off grafton street. I have a few criticisms though. The worst criticism of all... MIXED bathrooms with lacked mirror space. To look into the mirror you must lean cautiously over the toilet. Not the most comfortable position. Secondly the price of the food was over the top. I believe that a lemon tart is 8euro. unreal. I did enjoy the meal and to be very picky, I was dining with a party of ten. The food took about an hour to appear. The table was... Read more...

For a special occasion, but expensive
(26 August 2010)
by: Paul B. 4 out of 5
Have only stayed at the Westbury once around Christmas time last year. It really is a beautiful hotel - modern and sumptious in every detail, great location but its very expensive unless you manage to get a decent internet special, which are usually only midweek. The Cafe Novo is a modern, trendy cafe bar which is nice for breakfast and lunch - more for a treat as again, its steep. The Gallery is well known for its afternoon tea service but at 30 euro per person....As much as I'd love to, I can't... Read more...

The Westbury
(25 August 2010)
by: mandatory h. 3 out of 5
I really like the name of this hotel. The hotel is a luxury 5 star hotel in Dublin. Its just at the top of Grafton St. The hotel is in a nice area. Its very close to St Stephens green + park + shopping centre, as well as Grafton street shopping area. Bruxelles pub is nearby too if you fancy a drink without going to far for one. The room was very nice and we had internet access which was great. We had to wait for a few minutes before we could be seated for breakfast, which was a bit of a pain.... Read more...

nice to rest in
(11 July 2010)
by: B N. 5 out of 5
there is nothing nicer than chilling out in comfy armchairs with lots of nice full shopping bags at your feet.then the waitress comes with a tray for afternoon tea with scones and dainty buns.on occasions the piano is put to use and a chap playing away at easy to listen to music. there is only two drawbacks.1 afternoon tea at the westbury is quite expensive and must be paid for.. naturally. 2. all the bags at your feet have to be carried again out into the busy street.worth avisit... A classy and polished experience with a more modern sophistication
(29 June 2010)
by: Sarah C. 4 out of 5
I really like the Westbury as an alternative to the typical classy choices like the Shelbourne etc. There is something more understated about it, its more conveniantly located and the decor is beautiful. There is something very parisian about the decor upstairs. The drinks are generally more expensive than your normal pub but are cheaper than the Shelbourne and you still have the touch of eloquence. I've never had the cocktails there but the last time I was there, it was the first night of the... Read more...

X Factor
(28 February 2010)
by: Aoibheann S. 5 out of 5
A top class hotel in a great location. I love the Westbury and think that the staff are amazing. The minute you walk through the door you can feel that there is something special about the place. I'm very fond of the bar around Christmas time. It's very warm and welcoming. It's worth paying a few extra bob for the level of comfort and service in this hotel. Well worth a visit. Lovely for a break from the shopping on Grafton Street.... Read more...

so central!
(24 February 2010)
by: Sarah C. 4 out of 5
I've stayed here, and a return will definately be on the cards as the beds there are SO comfortable! The bathrobes are so soft and the location is second to none!" Its so fabulous, its a stones throw, (literally) away from Grafton st and st stephen's green, so if you're after a weekend in Dublin, you can do worse! With such a range of Fab restaurants in the area, I admit to not having eaten here, but believe that its nice! ... Read more...

Paying for atmosphere
(22 February 2010)
by: Caitriona D. 4 out of 5
A real posh hotel, and the price is too. Have never stayed here, but have had a hot chocolate or two in the lounge. At christmas a baby grand piano is brought out with someone playing soft music in background. The seats are those ones that you sink into and never want to get out of. The bathrooms are large and clean, with a good few cubicles so theres never a long queue. The also have molton brown hand lotion and soap, which is definatley a plus. The downside, however is that the staff can... Read more...

This Is The Place To Experience a Wonderful luxury Afternoon Tea for 2!
(22 February 2010)
by: Nigel D. 5 out of 5
Afternoon Tea here is a real treat, and very special. The lounge setting is luxurious , with comfortable armchairs and sofas set around individual tables , a very good resident pianist and generally the place is full of atmosphere, with views across to Grafton Street. There is a wide choice of tea and coffee blends, and the three -tiered cake and sandwich plate is not only substantial (literally a meal for 2) but '' foodie heaven''- a calorific cake lover's paradise : lots of homemade ...
