I had to visit a consultant at the Beacon Hospital. I imagined that I would just pop in to the hospital and be shown to his room. When I got to the hospital I discovered that the Beacon Consultancy rooms are not actually in the hospital at all. I was directed out through a back door and in to a car parking area. Then I had to follow various signs, some of them not very well positioned that led me through annexes, out in to the daylight, back inside other buildings and then outside again. It was... pure luxury

The Beacon is pure luxury and it is more like a hotel than a hospital. All the rooms are nicely decorated and very plush. I was referred to this hospital by my Doctor. It was only a minor day patient operation in one of the clinics. I did not have to stay overnight but if I had to it would have been very nice, and I would not have minded at all. All the staff were pleasant and the Doctor had a marvellous manner and treated me very nice. ... Read more...

Like a Hotel

I had to have an small operation, so was sent here to The Beacon Hospital. I personally hate hospitals, just the prevailing smell that is in most hospitals BUT NOT HERE. The place looks like a hotel. Very fancy. Visually it would make you feel good. Staff on reception were nice. Doctor was brilliant, and I felt he really cared about his patients. Expensive but glad I went here, so glad I had good health Insurance cover. Hopefully I will not have to go to hospital again, but if I had to... Read more...

was at the dermatology clinic recently.it is a very snazzy set up more like a hotel than hospital set up.to find suite 36 you pass a very colourful bull, again not your usual,some of the other hospitals may have stretched to a wee fish tank.checked in, filled in a form about my self and was called within 10 minutes.examined,surgery i would require explained by the doctor.went out to the secretary, told her what date and what time suited me and i am now booked.very efficient... Excellent prompt treatment

My youngest daughter presented in the A&E department , was attended to immediately (we have VHI cover), was found to have acute appendicitis, and was operated on immediately. She was then transferred to a 2 -bed ward for a couple of days. As a parent , this was a tremendous experience and very positive given the generally poor comments about our heallth services.
