Un- Baa lievable!

This is an excellent bar, hands down one of the best in Dublin! It is great for mid-week and weekend drinks. With an Australian/ sports theme, during the week one need not dress up to the nines to get in, but one accessory you do need is an age card as late at night and at the weekend Bouncers man the doors. On Thursdays it's Karaoke night and if you get the courage to sing, you usually get a drinks token out of it (No doubles), or at the very least I did when I was brave/ stupid enough to... Good for rugby

Report

I've only ever been here during some of the big rugby games and can't fault it as a sports bar- it doesn exactly what it says on the tin. Always a good atmosphere and banter in it during the games- although it can tend to get extra packed! Good pub grub too!... Read more...

Good sport's bar

(30 August 2010)

Report

I've only frequented this place once - last weekend - and was suitably happy with it, considering places that show pretty much every EPL game tend to draw an unsavoury crowd. I was heading into town to catch a game that wasn't on the usual sports channels, so I heard this place shows pretty much every event - and so it seemed. I have been to Murray's and The Living Room on other occasions to catch a match on said obscure channels, but I can be pretty sure I won't ever be going back to them -... Read more...

Watch the action

Located at the bottom of Parnell Street. beside Cineworld, it is by far the best sports bar in the city. It's a large Australian themed bar located over three floors. There are large screens everywhere, with one super wide angle projector screen for the really popular matches. Displaying anything from ice hockey, American football, to soccer this place is always busy and is always buzzing Food is served all day long and is pretty much your standard everything fried bar food, really tasty though... I have gone here a good few times over the years. Its a handy place to go either before or after the cinema cus its right next door. Its also a good spot to go an watch a match especialyl anything Aussie or South African- they show all the sports- even Criket! The food there is good too, i have had the steak before and it was gorgeous with loads of pepper suace. But the best thing that they do here is the South African sausage boreworse, served on a fresh roll with Mrs Balls Chutney yum yum yum... Read more...

Not only a sports bar

(30 March 2010)

Report

by: Laura B. 5 out of 5

This place is amazing. Came here with my class a couple of times. I know it's advertised as a sports bar- and I'd say it would be an amazing one- but we used to come for the 15 euro pitchers of cocktail and the massive karaoke nights. The karaoke was brilliant- they used to run it on their massive projector screen. It's a really big place as well with great food and several big rooms. Very banterful buzz- definitely recommended. Only downside is the area, I'd go with a big group to avoid dodgy... Read more...

Let the Games Begin

If you need a place to go to watch a sporting event this is it. There are screens everywhere and they also project the game on the wall so its big enough for everyone to see. The only downside to it is that is always packed during a big game. But that is partially what makes it so great. I love sports...and I love it when people get really into the game....so it goes both ways. I watched the superbowl here and it was packed...kinda cool to see so many irish people getting into American... Read more...

Apres Cinema Pint

(23 February 2010)

Report

by: Laura B. 3 out of 5

I like the Woolshed Bar. The staff are good fun and it's a fairly young crowd that will head there. For the most part it's students and people over from Australia (surprisingly enough) but you'll get people coming in from the cinema beside it. It's packed on match days and is a really good bar for atmosphere in that respect. The only issue I have with the bar is that there can be an awful smell of wee/sewerage emanating from somewhere in the building. It's not the nicest trying to have a pint... Read more...
