I am a big fan of this place. The restaurant looks great and the food is top quality. You do pay for the quality but again, well worth it. They have a big selection and lots of different types of food on offer. I have only been a few times, maybe three or four but each time I have had fun, and come away wanting to go back again. Worth a visit

This was my second time going, and for good reason. The food is well presented in well sized portions. There was a Valentines menu on the night which was 4 courses and a glass of prosecco each for €35 which was great value. Nothing too large to start with followed by a very healthy sized steak and sides. Great food, cheap and cheerful

I love Ely. It's always friendly with efficient service and tasty no fuss food. We were there on Mother's Day this year and as a Mum I felt spoiled. Brunch is always a great choice here and I cannot recommend the kedgeree enough. The wines by the glass are fantastic value with a superb choice to suit all tastes. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a fancy meal out at a reasonable price.... Read more...

Yummy food!

Enjoyed an early evening dinner here recently. Greeted by a nice receptionist and shown to a really nice table on the ground floor. Think there is also a dining room downstairs. Despite having a 3 course set menu, they were ok with us just having the main course from it. Ordered steak and it was delicious!!! Good food, excellent service and ambience

The food here is very good- the guinness bread is really nice. Veggie options are great as you usually get something different from other places and not just the 'usual' veggie options. Food very good quality. I love the cellar atmosphere and the staff are very very friendly and extremely accomodating. Seems to be quick busy at lunch time and when concerts on at the point but was here one sat evening for a family event and it was fairly quiet. It is slightly overpriced though for the current... Went to Ely Chq on two occasions one for dinner and other time for a wine tasting event. Both were excellent. The food in Ely is very good, it would have to be as it is a little on the pricey side. The room was fantastic hardwood floors, brick walls, low barrel vaulted brick ceilings. The food and wine were great, but what was really a great there was the service. Ely bar is a very relaxing place. It's great in summer time as they have a decent size seating area. During autumn and winter times there are a lot of events just outside so it's handy to pop in to warm up. Food was just ok, and did not impress me. Their wine selection, on the other hand, is really good and worth trying. It's a good location, as there aren't that many places to sit down and have a chat. Prices are steap though.... Read more...

Great wine selection!

I really like this place. The staff are very accommodating and the ambience in the basement is incredible. The food is very good and the selection of wine is incredible. This is a great place for a wine tasting or for private dining/parties. I have attended a couple of wine tasting dinners here and I think it is the best venue in the city for this type of thing. I came here with clients for a quick lunch. We were greeted nicely by the receptionist who took my clients bags downstairs. The decor is quite impressive if your not claustrophobic, you go down to the basement, i think it was an old train station. Most of the people are business lunches and ladies lunching. I have been to Ely CHQ quite a few times now, and have found it amazing. The upstairs area is so contemporary and visually stunning, while downstairs almost gives you the feeling that you've just discovered a hidden gem. Contrary to the previous review, I find the service to be impeccable every time, with the staff very friendly yet unintrusive. Ely CHQ was one of the products of the Celtic tiger and I wouldn't be surprised if it went the same way as our beloved feline. I decided to bring a friend here as I had heard good things about the place and it does have a classy look about the place.
