Bentley's HotelLocation is a key part to having a great hotel experience. Many travelers want to be right in the heart of the city so attractions can be easily seen. Bentley’s Hotel located in South City Centre on St. Stephens Green is a prime hotel for a city atmosphere. Michelle said, “I stayed in the Bentley’s with 2 of my girl friends as a shopping weekend treat. Grafton street is only a short walk away. its a small hotel but it is lovely. The bedrooms are beautiful. The ambiance in the restaurant was lovely and the food was simple, but very tasty. To sum this hotel up I would say good location, great service and great value for money. I would stay here again in a heart beat.” Another place to get a city feeling is the O’ Callaghan Stephens Green Hotel also in South City Centre. Close to everything that is needed for a visit to Dublin this hotel offers visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the Dublin lifestyle. Lea F. raved, “O’ Callaghans is my favorite Hotel in Dublin City Centre. I highly recommend it to anyone I know who is coming over to stay. They staff are second to none, especially the front desk staff. Every person who I have recommended this hotel to has also given rave reviews.”

Just a short distance away from Dublin is the city of Galway. This city gives individuals a chance to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city to take the time to relax and enjoy the restaurants and nightlife. Overlooking the beautiful scenery of Galway is the Galway Bay Hotel in Salthill. This hotel offers delicious food and a pleasant stay to guests. M said, “There is a lovely seating area off the lobby where you can look out at Galway Bay, lovely and bright on a sunny day. It seems to be a very age friendly hotel with people of all ages there. Staff are very courteous and friendly. We had lunch here on two occasions. The scones, soup and desserts were lovely. There is plenty of parking outside. Nice location if staying here as the views of the bay are lovely and it is near Salthill.” More in the heart of Galway is the G Hotel. This one of a type decorated hotel supplies the high class stay people expect. L.N. claimed, “This hotel is exquisite, inside you can see your reflection the marble walls are so shiny! All the tea rooms are different themes and colors and the dining room is fabulous-big colorful seats, with cool paintings and the bonnet of a BMW is very cool! Staff extremely kind and helpful and cater for coeliacs remarkably well!”

The last city on the hotel tour of Ireland is Cork. This location has lots to offer guests who are visiting. Also, it is just a drive or train Fota Island Golf Resort & Spaaway from anywhere in Ireland. For more of the luxurious feeling on your visit to Cork there is Fota Island Golf Resort & Spa. This hotel provides people the chance to be completely waited on and have a stress free living environment for their stay. Sharon said, “I stayed here for a one night special deal last year. The staff were very friendly checking us in. When we got up to the room I was delighted. It was quite large which a big bed, flat screen T.V. and Ipod dock. The bathroom is stunning. We ate in the restaurant downstairs which was gorgeous. The food was top quality and a nice atmosphere.” If you are a traveler and looking for something close to the airport then Cork International Airport Hotel is a hotel that will fit your qualifications. This quirky place is perfect for the person who needs a place to stay for the night. Noirin commented, “I travel quite a bit for my job, and have stayed in many a random place, but none more so than this hotel! It is without a doubt the strangest looking place I’ve ever been in! But in the best sense.”

These hotels are just a few highlights in the three cities listed. Throughout Ireland there are many beautiful hotels for guests to visit, but these are highly recommended by our WhoseView.ie users. On your next stay in one of these cities you should try resting your head at one of the listed locations!

Hello everybody, I know it is the beginning of the week and you have a lot of things to accomplish before the weekend. I know you are always busy and are just looking to catch a break. That is why I am presenting a guide to the best restaurants in Galway, take a night off from cooking and enjoy a meal with no stress.

krcma

The KRCMA Slavic House is a popular restaurant among our viewers and is rated #1 of 203 restaurants in Galway. Denis said “The food is top notch; I used to live in Slovakia, and I must say that this is one the very few places in Ireland where you will find the true taste of the East.” Christine said “I love this restaurant. There is nowhere else like it in Galway.” If you are interested in something a little exotic but have already been to the KRCMA Slavic House try Eatern Tandoori. They have been raved to have some of the best Indian food in town. Christine said “The food was lovely and they took my husband seriously when he said he wanted it spicy! The service is very good and they make a lovely cup of Chai, which is almost my favourite part of the meal.”

If you are craving Italian food try Basilico Restaurant. This is one of the most popular Italian restaurants in the city which means they must have fantastic food. Christine said ” Basilico serves the nicest Italian food in Galway. The popularity of the restaurant is a testament to this. I had a seafood tagliatele and it was absolutely divine.” Another great Italian restaurant to check out is Buon Appetito Italian Restaurant. Geraldine said “They have absolutely gorgeous food, I eat here at least once a week. They have the same menu day and evening with different specials every day. It is very reasonably priced and definately worth a visit.” If you like Italian food and are craving pizza try Four Star Pizza. It may not be the fanciest restaurant, but it is a great place to get pizza. Christine said “Four Star Pizza is really cool about substituting ingredients and they have price saving deals that are very easy to come by.” If you have been to Four Star Pizza and want to try a different pizza parlor check out Apache Pizza. Lorna said “I think Apache has the best pizza ever. They always give you loads of toppings and never burn the cheese. They have an all day special that is a great value for you wallet!”
ogradys-on-the-pier

If you are looking for something a little more traditional try Abolone Restaurant. Yvonne said “This restaurant is small and intimate with a very friendly staff. The chef sent out a sample while we were waiting on our dinner and there were lovely breads to choose from on our table. The main courses were absolutely delicious (most of us had beef fillet) as were the side dishes. The desserts were scrumptious and our whole dining experience was fantastic.” Another great restaurant to try is the Vina Mara Restaurant. Sarah said “This is by far my favourite Restaurant in Galway! They have great food that is tasty and well presented! The early bird has great value and they provide excellent service!” O’Grady’s On The Pier is another fantastic restaurant in Galway. Miriam said “We celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary here in Sep 2009. From start to finish it was fabulous. The staff couldn’t do enough to make it a memorable evening!” Niamh said “We went here for a 21st birthday. It’s a very special place, really nicely decorated and the dinner was amazing. At night, it is so cosy and during the day you have such an beautiful view. well worth a visit.”

I hope this guide was helpful in providing ideas for places to eat. Bonne Appetite!

It’s that time of year when people pull out their green tee shirts and get ready for St. Patrick’s Day. Wednesday is approaching fast so I hope you are getting ready to celebrate! If you are in Cork or Galway, this is the guide for you! Provided is a list of the best public houses your cities have to offer. So prepare yourself to have a great night out!

bailey-bar

If you are in Cork, check out the Old Oak Bar on Oliver Plunkett Street. K.K. said “this place has something to offer everyone no matter the time of the day! In the afternoon it is cosy and warm and offers excellent lunches at great prices. It has TVs to watch matches and there is plenty of seating everywhere. At night it turns into a busy hot spot attracting an older crowd but is plenty of fun with great music. It is one of my favourite places in the city! Roisin said “The Old Oak is a very large pub, with a little bit of something for everyone. The meandering layout and nooks and crannys means that if you want a cosy corner by a fire then you can find it, yet there’s also a large dancefloor to strut your stuff on when the music demands it. It’s quite popular with tourists and locals, so it is a nice mix. Not too touristy, not too cliquey.” This sounds like a great place for St. Patty’s Day because you can mingle with the locals and the tourists in a great atmosphere! If you have already been to The Old Oak and want to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day some place else try The Baily Bar on Courthouse Street. P.K. said “this is just a real fun place! I think this pub attracts the early to mid twenties age group. It’s spread out over 3 floors and is always very busy! The staff are very efficient… you would seldom be waiting very long for your drink! They always play the very latest in chart music and also some of the old classics that appeal to everyone! The DJ is fab… whatever you ask him for he will play! Great atomosphere here… highly recommended!” Killian said “The Bailey will always be an excellent spot for class parties and predrinks for nights out. It’s reasonably priced, near most of the clubs in the city, and they are always willing to provide jello shots and the like for parties.” Sounds like a great place to go if you are in your twenties! If you are looking for a crazy night out try The Idle Hour. Allison said ” The only expression for this place is “mad” - I mean that in a good way. If you’re out for a quiet night DON’T COME HERE - it’s ideal for meeting up with a gang if you’re out to have a laugh. As the night wears on it gets even madder. People dancing on chairs, tables and even the bar counter - great craic if you’re in the mood for it. I don’t think there’s another pub in Cork to compare it with, it really is unique!” Marmi said “This pub down in the dock area of Cork has been one of the highlights of Cork nightlife for quite a while now. Pubs like this, off the beaten track, come and go in popularity, particularly in Cork. However this one has staying power and its easy to see why. The place is mad. Every weekend it is full of people who are out to have a good time, the music is cool and gets louder as the night progresses which leads to the inevitable dancing on chairs and bar!” This sounds like the prefect place to go if you plan on having a great night on St. Patty’s Day.

salt-house-pub

If you are in Galway and looking for a great place to Celebrate try O’Connor’s Famous Pub. Niamh said If you haven’t been, you need to go!! The decor is something that you’ve probably not experience in a while - lets just say there wouldn’t want to be an earthquake or there would be a lot of missing limbs (as my cousin pointed out to me one night!). Excellent atmosphere, very cosy - especially in the winter when the fire is blazing. They usually have a singer with a guitar or playing the piano to make the place even more special. Friendly staff. You are guaranteed a good night.” Christine said “I can’t help but to just look around at all the cool stuff. It’s like the Old Spaghetti Factory (if you know what I’m talking about) on crack. Great big roaring fire, usually a good band playing, every stick of furniture and decoration in the place is an antique. It’s truly amazing.” If you are looking for something a little more traditional try the Salt House Pub. Christine said “They have an excellent selection of different specialty beers, try Aspall Cider the next time you’re in because it’s lovely, much nicer than Bulmer’s. It’s pretty cosy, and they don’t normally turn the music on stupidly loud like pretty much every other pub in this country, so you can actually chat with people around you.” Sounds like a great place to go with your friends if you want to catch up! If you are in Eyre Square stop into O’Connells Bar. Christine said “They probably have one of the nicest beer gardens in town. O’Connell’s is an extremely popular pub and I personally love the original decor. The huge range in the back room might be my favourite part. The historic interior, beer gardens, and the clientele are the draw of this pub - it doesn’t serve anything particularly interesting, but I suppose for a historic pub that makes sense. Nothing but good ol’ simplicity available. This could be the perfect place for a traditional St. Patty’s Day Celebration.

No matter where you decide to go I am sure you are going to have a great day! Happy St. Patrick’s Day everybody!
