Bianconi’s Best Pizza in Dublin? - Whoseview.ie focus group thinks so

This week we conducted a focus group with Twitter users, bloggers and members of the WhoseView site to figure out what the Best Pizza in Dublin is.
In a slightly scientific (No Professors were harmed) blind taste test, nine highly opinionated people decided that Bianconi’s in Ranelagh was the overall winner for Best Pizza in Dublin. Even in such a small focus group, opinions about best and worst varied wildly. As well as winning the title, Bianconi’s also worked out to be the cheapest for pizza including delivery.
Other Pizzerias tested were (in order of rankings, best to worst):
2. Domino’s Rathmines,
3. Four Star Ranelagh,
4. Hell Wexford Street,
5. Apache Pearse Street
6. Godfather’s Leeson Street.
Quotes from:
Tom Hayes of WhoseView said of the taste test:
“Getting a consensus on the best pizza in Dublin is tougher than it seems, everyone’s taste varies, it’s a very subjective thing, however even in a world of differing opinions, some stars shine through, like Bianconi’s but we know that even then not everyone will agree. That’s the basis for WhoseView.ie, we’re allowing everyone to rant or rave about their favourite restaurant, pizzeria or any other business.”
Added Helen McCarthy of WhoseView:
“The great banter that we have at home watching TV, in the pub, in the work canteen about what’s the best or worst X or Y is why we built WhoseView. We want people to give energetic opinions and reviews about everything in their city and then share it with their friends or the greater world.”

How the taste test was organised:
6 pizzas were cut into half-slice slivers. Each pizza from the pizzerias was a half and half, half being just cheese and the other being the meat pizza speciality from that pizzeria. Pizzas were brought out in 6 rounds and each person tasted a cheese slice and meat slice. Nobody was told which pizzeria the pizza came from until all pizzas were tasted and rated. In between rounds water and dry crackers were made available if the tasters wanted to normalise their palate again.
