I love this quirky place, first entering you are not too sure have you been transported to 1960s Russia especially downstairs with the chipboard, the hair dyer and the statue of religious icons on filing drawers!! Its mad, but as someone once said to me you have to be quirky to be orginal and this place is definately that!!
Upstairs has all the old school desks i had in secondary school, every plate and chair is different nothing matches. its great!! DONT BRING YOUR MANNERLY MOTHER- if she is big into matching china/cutlery. She aint going to like this, this is for your funky friends/siblings, who are artists ( saw a famous irish in there when i was in there on Wednesday), and the like, dont ask why i was there, i just like the food!!
Well i brought my friend there before the basement jaxx concert, her choice on the concert mine on the restaurant!!
We both had the blue cheese and pair salad(€7), it was nice but we both agreed it was missing something and so we got the foccia with dips(€6.50), we finished off with brownies and ice cream(€4.50) and apple tart with cream (€4.50) and manly pots of tea. The dammage was €38 they add on service charge automatically oh and i had a coke.
The waitresses are friendly and so are the customers. THey also do take out food. i think they are the same owners as the mermaid cafe next door. Defo good for a spot of din dins before a gig in the Olympia. The food is simply good quality food. no messing
K would recommend. K would use again.
