Extensions, and what’s actually available to you

People often don’t realise how many routes there are. Here’s what we build:

• Single-storey rear extensions

Each one has different foundation requirements. Ground conditions around Chester, out towards Tarvin, and down near Hapsford vary more than people expect. We always dig down properly before anything goes up.

Loft and garage work

Loft conversions free up space without touching the footprint. We do dormer, hip-to-gable, and Velux-style depending on what the roof allows. A new garage conversion is one of the tidiest jobs we handle, good insulation, a proper floor screed, and it doubles the usable space in the house overnight. (Most people underestimate how cold an uninsulated garage slab actually gets in January.)

Structurally it’s straightforward. The finish takes care.

Brickwork, groundworks, and the rest

We work in engineering brick, commons, facing brick, and blockwork depending on the spec. Groundworks means drainage runs, concrete pads, strip footings, and raft foundations depending on load. Around Mickle Trafford the soil can be heavy clay. We account for that from the first day on site.

Plastering and rendering we do internally and externally. Sand and cement, monocouche, or multi-finish depending on the substrate.
