Great Wakering Patios
Great Wakering Patios
A bit about how we got started
A neighbour asked me to sort her back garden one wet October. That one job turned into everything we do now.
We have been laying patios and transforming outdoor spaces across Great Wakering and the surrounding Essex parishes for years. St Nicholas Church has been a landmark I drive past most mornings on the way to a job, and it still feels good knowing we are working on homes in this neighbourhood.
What we work with
We use materials that suit the Essex climate, not just whatever looks good in a brochure.
- Porcelain tiles
- Indian sandstone and natural stone
- Concrete flagstones
- Block paving
- Artificial grass and roll-on turf
- Timber fencing and garden walling
How we actually work
Every job starts with the ground. Get the sub-base wrong and the rest is just expensive guesswork, and I have seen plenty of that from other contractors we have been called in to fix.
Drainage matters out here in Essex, with the clay soil doing what it does. We factor that in from day one, not as an afterthought once the first puddle appears. (I am no poet when it comes to describing it, but a well-graded fall is genuinely satisfying to get right.)
One thing customers often appreciate more than they expect is low-voltage lighting integrated into steps. It changes how you use the garden once the evenings draw in, and it is neater than anything added on afterwards.
