Materials and method

Indian sandstone is popular and we use a lot of it. Porcelain is harder wearing, it needs a full-bed adhesive mortar rather than a sand and cement mix, which is worth knowing before you price a job cheap.

Wicklow granite is one I come back to regularly. It suits the Irish climate, it beds well, and it does not look out of place in an older Dublin neighbourhood the way some imported stone can.

New builds and renovations

Some customers come to us with a blank garden. Others have an existing patio that has shifted or cracked after a few winters, and they want it lifted, re-based, and re-laid properly. We handle both. The renovation work is often more involved than starting fresh, however we price it honestly based on what we actually find when we get on site.
