What we do

From the ground up, patio work is what we know best. At Great Notley Patios, we’ve spent years laying outdoor spaces that hold their shape through Essex winters and look right through every season after that.

Materials we work with

Choosing between Yorkstone and Indian sandstone is one of those conversations we have with almost every customer, and getting that choice right matters more than people realise. We work across a full range of materials:

• Indian sandstone and natural stone paving
• Porcelain tiles, including large-format rectified slabs
• Concrete flagstones and block paving
• Liscannor flagstone for customers who want something with real character

Each material behaves differently under load and in wet conditions, so we assess the subbase requirements before anything else gets discussed.

Beyond the patio

Paving is the core of what we do, however we handle the broader garden build too. Paths, walling, timber fencing, turfed lawns and artificial grass all fall within our scope. A lot of customers in and around Great Notley come to us for the patio and end up having us finish the whole garden, it just makes sense to keep one team on the job.

How we work

We don’t rush the prep. A patio that sinks or shifts within two years is a patio that was poorly bedded from the start. Proper falls for drainage, a compacted subbase, the right mortar mix for the material, that’s where the work actually happens, well before the first slab goes down.
