Long Island winters hit hard. The freeze-thaw cycles out here, temperatures swinging from the low teens up past 90 in summer, crack and buckle asphalt faster than most people expect. We see it every spring along CR 83, driveways heaved up, surfaces crumbling at the edges. That is what keeps us busy.

We have been laying asphalt and setting pavers across Islip and the surrounding Suffolk County area for years. We know the ground conditions, we know the materials that hold up, and we know how to get a job done without it becoming a week-long circus on your property.

We use hot-mix asphalt laid properly, compacted right, with drainage accounted for from the start. Get the base wrong and nothing on top of it lasts, however good the surface looks on day one. We have fixed enough of other people’s bad base work to know that better than most.

Interlock pavers are popular right now, and honestly they look well when they are done right. We spec the correct bedding sand, we use quality concrete pavers, and we make sure the edging restraints are set so the whole thing does not shift on you by year three. Not everyone bothers with that last part. We do.
