Colour-matching is something customers ask about more than you’d think. When we’re laying a new patio, we take time to match the paving tone to your edging kerbs and any feature borders you want to include. A buff sandstone centre with a charcoal grey bullnose edge, for example, reads really cleanly. But get that combination wrong and the whole thing can look like two separate jobs bolted together. We carry samples and we’ll always talk you through your options before a single slab goes down.

And drainage rarely gets the attention it deserves until something goes wrong. It’s not glamorous work, I’ll grant you that.

However good the surface material looks, the base preparation underneath is what decides how long it lasts. We don’t cut corners on sub-base depth or compaction, even on smaller jobs. Porcelain especially needs a solid, level bed or you’ll have movement within a couple of winters.
